• got a headache from showering yesterday and also biking in the freezing wind today • It snowed!! • worked 8 hours at anime con again. was worried my body wouldn't recover since I ended up staying very late with the headache yesterday, but I woke up with no muscle soreness whatsoever. teenage recovery speed is no joke lol. feeling rich with $275 • finally fixed that bug I've been working forever on in milkyway 😁 • how do I keep posting while slack is down?

GUESS WHO SHIPPED THEIR HACKPAD!!! i think i forgot to scrapbook yesterday because i thought of doing it, wrote the entry in my mind, and forgot i didnt write it in slack the lock in call really helped, i missed making the speed devboard tho 🥀 i just have to make one more t5 project and i might be able to go to prototype idk tho about my schedule and i still have to ask my parents for permission i finished two school projects, my health project and my photosynthesis biology project this took two nights of 2am sleep for some reason i feel more awake the later i sleep, i think im just weird 😛 i think i finally found my true friend group at school, they kept me motivated when i was locking in in all of my work at midnight 😄 discord is such a peak social media platform, no hate to slack ofc but its more of a workspace type thing, i love discord activities and all the fun little things in discord like soundboard and gifs i need to lock in for my ftc team, i need to cad a robot design for our qualifier soon, we are kind of a rookie team and we are all learning how to do all the robotics stuff like cadding, coding, 3d printing, etc while managing like a dozen other activities and school and everything 😞 i love onshape for cadding, sketching and extruding is just so satisfying

i also have to learn more godot so i can do well in skillsusa this year, hopefully nats?? and i need to make my ev build and ento binder for scioly 😛 ❤️ thats all for today i gotta sleep now ;)

Day 8 outta

! Great googly moogly! • Fixed a bug in Milkyway Pets where tray menu entries weren't being removed when clicked. Worked a bit on my other game, Burning Rain. • Read ~30 pages of the comic 俺物語. I had to look up a lot of vocab, but I could get the general jist of a lot of sentences. • Did some practice tests for my licence exam. It turns out that there are new questions being introduced next month, so I'll probably sit the test after my Japanese exam next week. That'll be the first goal ticked off my list! • Made a post about my YSWS idea, If you have any thoughts or feedback on the concept let me know!

Day 7/50 I've discovered the .warc file format and I'm now using it to archive thevalleyofcode (see day 6). I've made a small python script to archive a whole website with a whitelist so I don't escape to google.com and scrap the internet

I've also read a small paper on FastWARC (python library for archiving) but I won't count it for my 50 days goals as it's only one page

Day 4: Parthenon! The hackathon started and it’s so great. I’ve been having a ton of fun conversations with Hack Clubbers. It’s such a great reminder of how big the community is and how there are so many people having life changing experiences in Hack Club and aren’t on the Slack every day. day 1! • fixed hackclub.com/slack :D • did one fire dept onboarding call • went to the country park to take some nice sunset photos and came back with nothing good because it was too cloudy and then too dark to take any photos • edited the best photo (it's still terrible) • worked on my new website! it has a lightbulb synced to my actual lightbulb which was hard to get working but i'm really happy it works now! (demo)

So a new start in scrapbook uhmm nice !! SO the project I am working on is called TermoSlack as the name suggests its Slack but in a Terminal, yeah-you heard it right slack in a terminal-this is the craziest thingg I ever did !!! Also I want to implement a ditto version of slack in terminal but lets see what I can implement or not-looking forward to the project !!!!

Ever wanted to use multiple

WakaTime instances (eg. using both Hackatime and WakaTime at the same time) but waka-relay was just too hard to use? Worry no more! I just finished working on my new project, timesplit that aims to make that much easier!

Luca ( @Slloom ) and I hosted our first ever Hack Club meeting on 9/25! We had way more interest than we expected - 8 people! We handed out snacks and stickers, and then had everyone get Github, VS Code, Slack, and generally get set up to code. Then on 9/30 we hosted a Boba Drops Workshop, and had even more people come - 10! Almost everyone finished the workshop in the time they could stay for (1-2 hours). It was super rewarding to see people who had literally never touched coding in their lives code a website they were proud of! There were a few who themed their websites around their favorite video games, and another kept working on it after and came up to me yesterday with a second page with lots of poetry :) It was cool to see how what they were passionate about leaked into what hopefully will become a new passion! Doing the Boba Drops workshop reminded me that I have a website that I should work on, but so far I've only made minor changes (I've been really busy with schoolwork and I'm in the school play!), so I'll save an update on that for another time. Keep an eye out for a post on 10/10 when we do demos of the websites people made!

) ‼️ im actually pretty happy with how it turned out! it was a big improvement from the questionable shark thing i made yesterday, probably because i actually followed a proper blender tutorial this time. i still spent like 4 or 5 hours on it

, but i feel like if i redid it now, i could probably do in 1-2 hours. there's a timelapse attached btw. i did learn a lot of stuff! the hardest part maybe was probably unwrapping the UVs? next im gonna rig it and make it dance or something

OK so I disappeared for a handful of days... Basically, I was at the peak district, camping with my family and some family friends. Did I do physics? Yes, I'm Delana for god's sake, of course I did physics. Did I do a lot of physics? Admittedly not much, I was limited to a couple problems a day, and I read a couple physics books after splurging on Waterstones the first day of camping when we made a stop in the middle of our car ride to eat lunch. So WHY didn't I post? Well... the signal there was rubbish. If I was really, really lucky then maybe slack would load new messages a couple of times a day. My signal was not nearly good enough to post pictures, and so while I mourn the loss of my streak, here I am, and I'm going to start posting daily again XD. For day 18 of my Olympiad prep journey, I decided to do another past paper XD. But no one wants to see that ~~okay I'm not bothered to get my phone out to take a picture~~ So here's a screenshot of the paper I did instead lol. I'm going to end all my posts with a little fire emoji and a number from now on to show how many days long my current streak is

Seeing the @/ ping prevention hack in help channels and how this could be made better, I decided to make @NoPing , a Slack bot which automatically converts all mentions with lookalike links that won’t ping. It’s very simple: /np before your message. It doesn’t work in threads for now (slash commands don’t work in threads); I’ll use some sort of composer (like the edit modal, which I’ve implemented) and a “Reply to this thread” shortcut. I intentionally made it work without databases (by using text checks before executing edit functions) which might backfire

Just shipped #C091PEQP7CJ|! It's like #C07UJMV9389| but for Summer of Making, and gives you updates for stock changes, new items and price reductions! I took a lot of what I learnt from High Seas Monitor and Arcade Monitor to make the codebase more maintainable and easy to hack on! •

happy-dom (dom library for nodejs/bun) is used to parse the som shop's html • 🚢 arktype (a library to validate the shape of types) is used for safe env vars, better intellisense, and to ensure that the scraping script isn't reporting false/undefined data because of a page change (it'll stop the script from running further and pinging people for false updates) •

sentry is used to monitor errors. since the bot does html scraping, it can be slightly fragile - sentry (to report errors) + arktype (to throw errors) help prevent that from happening •

jsx-slack lets you use jsx instead of json for block kit! while it doesn't use react, it helps keep your code a lot shorter and you get better intellisense. i use it for all the bot's messages and it's been a joy to use! •

bun to use typescript/tsx without a bundler + for superfast package management! code's at github.com/skyfallwastaken/som-monitor. dual licensed under MIT and Apache 2.0.
