Haven't posted anything in here in a while, so here's an update on my OS. It's 32-bit and mostly written in C. I can read/write to the disk, have a filesystem (no directories yet) and have some built-in tests! Also just looks somewhat better

Day 54 of #100-days-in-public. Today I ventured to Northumberland to view the solar eclipse. It was truly spectacular and interesting to see some of the odd lighting effects right before and after totality. I never expected this, as all the images I have seen do not convey it, but during totality the sunlight around the moon was silver. I am currently heading back home, but delays are causing the ride to take about 6 times what it normally should.

I just got my little custom web framework serving basic html! It's going to eventually be a little MVC framework for node.js It can't serve static pages rn and the page rendering could do a bit of work (I also want to eventually bootstrap my own web server as it's currently relying on express) This took far too long

#100-days-in-public day 9 I got some more results from my image compression ai that I was making and I realized that instead of going over every single pixel individually I could build a CNN network that has a 1,1 filter and it would do the same thing basically. That made me realize a deeper connection between CNN's and normal DNN's which has me feeling really trippy since

Chela update! I've fixed a ton of bugs and added some fun features and now Chela is at version 1.0.0! If you missed the previous ship, Chela is minimal selfhostable URL shortener written in Rust. It runs in a 14Mb Docker container! It required me to write Go code compiled for WebAssembly to get a full client working, but it does work! Introducing, turbowarp.sh - building blocks for SSH apps in Scratch. It allows you to connect to any Linux server provided it has a WebSocket tunnel to SSH (see websocat/websockify) like Nest! You can execute commands, have full programming control flow with Scratch, and more! #100-days-in-public day 8 I got my image compression algorithm to work a bit it created the last two images after training on the first image I have another idea that could be much better, i am going to sort the image array and then train an algorithm to take that array and turn it into the main image using that i could use 255 bytes for the data and probably very few bytes for the machine learning model as well but I am going to try that tmmr

#earthians-assemble so I recently started learning Figma to create better UI/UX for my websites and yesterday i took a template of a delivery app and built my own design on it, transformed it from a delivery page to a restaurant booking page. P.S - ignore that blue squared box around that icon on top-right. Hoping to get better :DD .

Announcing Chela! I took a few hours to try and make a nice little self hosted URL shortener like bit.ly. I wrote it in Rust and tried to keep it small. I'm currently hosting it at trkt.in. I used sqids to generate ID's which leads to super awesome short URL's like trkt.in/GM! The source is available here.

Day 51 of #100-days-in-public. Today was quite exciting. I said hi to the folks staffing the hack club table, got to see a s'more making machine made by a fellow FRC team, and saw a helicopter with a chainsaw cutting trees very close to power lines. Our robot also broke in a pretty interesting way, when we tried to climb with only one of the two hooks, the rope pulling the hooks managed to bend one of the eye bolts that was routed through into kind of a curly brace.

I also finally updated the website to show more than just the Nuxt Boilerplate, and now the logo is there too with a little nav bar! ( i spent maybe 2 hours getting DNS setup properly with custom domains and cghs.hackclub.com ) ( syntax is my greatest enemy )

Day 50 of #100-days-in-public. No project progress today, wasn't able to get any internet. I did however go to the New England first championship with my team. I was on pit crew for a while and helped prep the robot for matches. While I was on pit crew, I got a photo of our polycarbonate climber arms that I worked on and the stress fractures that formed within them.

#100-days-in-public day 5 unfortunately for some reason using a convolutional only network hasn't been working for the image compression idea that I had which is confusing to me so im going to try to use things from this video with sin and cosine values combined with convolution layers into make things (the image that I was using was supposed to be the hacker image but it keeps returning weird blank images strangely) www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkwXa7Cvfr8&t=6s
